The Wandschneiders are strongly committed to maintaining important habitat and feed areas for wildlife as well as a permanent home for native trees and plants, so they honored TPC with a donation of their property in 2019.
Located adjacent to Lapham Peak State Park and within the Nagawicka Watershed, the biologically diverse parcel contains large healthy red, white and bur oaks and is visited by sandhill cranes, fox sparrows, wood-ducks and chorus frogs. Preserving this land also protects the water quality of Audley Creek – and ultimately Lake Nagawicka.
“We realize that the purpose of our journey on earth is to be temporary custodians of the planet. This donation provides preservation assurance – forever – for the land, the creek, and all the wonderful critters and wildlife that inhabit the land.” —Chloe & Ross Wandschneider
