Join TPC and Waukesha County Land Conservancy after dark at Ravensholme Farm Preserve for an enlightening evening dedicated to Wisconsin’s bats, featuring Helen Holtz, Waukesha County Land Conservancy's Land Management Director, Wisconsin Master Naturalist, and WDNR Bat Ambassador. This educational program will provide a comprehensive look at Wisconsin’s eight bat species, their ecological significance, and the alarming decline of our cave-dwelling bats, leading to their designation as state-threatened and endangered species.
Weather permitting, the presentation will be held outdoors, followed by a short guided walk around the farm to observe WDNR bat monitoring equipment and demonstrate the use of the Echo Meter, a specialized acoustic device that identifies bat species through their echolocation calls. This experience offers a unique opportunity to witness bat activity in real time and better understand the science behind bat conservation.
Bring a chair and a drink, and join us for this unique batty experience! Space is limited - reserve your spot today!
Lend a Hand - Leave a Legacy!
At Tall Pines Conservancy, our story began with a handful of passionate individuals who recognized the urgent need to protect the natural beauty and agricultural heritage of Southeast Wisconsin. Their commitment gave rise to a thriving, nationally accredited land trust — and their spirit of stewardship continues to guide us today.
Now, we invite you to become part of that legacy.
As a volunteer with Tall Pines Conservancy, you’ll find countless ways to make a meaningful impact. Whether you're passionate about conservation, eager to spend more time outdoors, or simply looking for a way to give back, there's a place for you here. Volunteers help with everything from removing invasive species and restoring prairies and wetlands and maintaining trails throughout our protected properties to building regional support for local producers.
If you prefer to work behind the scenes, your skills are just as valuable. We welcome support with tasks like conservation easement monitoring, data collection and reporting, coordinating community events, and even helping with grant writing and outreach efforts.
No matter how you choose to get involved, your time and energy contribute directly to the long-term health of our landscapes and the success of our mission.
