Tall Pines Conservancy (“TPC”) offers hunting on a few of its preserves. We recognize hunting as a method of wildlife management and a form of outdoor recreation, and we support partnerships with hunters as responsible land stewards. To promote a safe and enjoyable hunting experience, it is the responsibility of each hunter to understand and follow all local and state regulations and licensing requirements as well as the additional regulations outlined in this policy. Violators of any rule or regulation are automatically disqualified from future hunting opportunities on any TPC-owned property.
1. Only bow hunting is permitted unless otherwise stated.
2. No stands shall be placed within 30 feet of a property boundary.
3. No spikes or screw-in steps are allowed nor any other tree-damaging equipment.
4. Cutting and/or clearing brush to create blinds or shooting lanes is permitted with approval from TPC staff.
5. Any tree stand or blind left on the property must be labeled with the name and contact information of the hunter. TPC assumes no responsibility for lost or damaged stands. TPC reserves the right to remove and dispose of said stands if not removed within the mandated timeframe.
6. No baiting or food plots.
7. No alcohol consumption.
8. Leave no trace – no fires, camping, littering (including plastic flagging), or dumping of waste. Waste from deer processing is permitted but must be 100 feet away from any trail, parking area, or building.
9. Hunters are responsible for knowing property boundaries and staying within them.
10. No hunting within a 300-foot radius of any inhabited dwelling.
11. No unnecessary shooting or shooting at targets.
12. All trail cameras must be labeled with a name and phone number. Cameras not labeled will not be returned.
13. Vehicles are not permitted on the property other than designated parking areas.
14. Dogs are not allowed for hunting, even for recovery purposes.
15. Hunter takes full responsibility for the actions of their hunting party.
Please note Tall Pines Conservancy does not determine hunting access on its conservation easements as these properties remain privately owned. Many properties with a “Tall Pines Conservancy” sign are private property, but the following are TPC owned properties that provide hunting access.

Property Information:
Metz Preserve is an 84-acre property located in the Town of Erin. Please note that the property is only publicly accessible via the Oconomowoc River or via the DNR land to the west – no trails are present. Bow and gun hunting are permitted.
